MAC Red Enriched Cremestick Liner and MAC Chili Lipstick

As said in a previous post you can never fail MAC for a good lipstick and my collection of them is always growing, they do a great range of reds and Chili is definitely one of my favourites. When I went to buy this I was lacking in a good red liner to wear it with and decided to go for a cremestick version.

Chili has a slight burnt-orange/brown tone to it - which you can wear as understated as you like, I like to wear this with a bold red liner and build the shade so it's nice and bright. Chili is part of the matte lipstick range but I find its texture creamy - my issue is that matte lipsticks can be quite drying on my lips but this one doesn't give me this issue whatsoever.

Red Enriched is an excellent lip liner too. It has a twist stick mechanism which means no sharpening, it's soft and really easy to apply, it literally glides on. This shade will go well with most red shades of lipsticks too so I recommend it for anyone looking for a 'go to' red liner!

I feel like I get quite a classic looking red lip when I use this combination of lipstick and liner - even though Chili isn't necessarily described as a 'classic' red. Let me know what you think of any of these products!

MAC Fluidline Eye-liner Gel

MAC's Fluidline is the liner I always go back to. I've found that over the years I prefer gel to liquid and this one never fails me. There's always a lot of issues surrounding the fact that gel dries out but I think that is just something that inevitably happens and for me fluidline lasts for a good amount of time. It's soft and creamy and goes on like a dream. I apply it using my MAC 266 brush (this is a smaller version from the Glamour Daze holiday collection).

Not everyone likes using angled brushes for eyeliner but it's what I'm most comfortable with and helps me to get a precise line for my flicks! Blacktrack is super black which is exactly what you need - great texture and easy to apply in my opinion so i'd recommend this to anyone wanting to try a gel liner. If there are any other liners you love please let me know!

Black Lodge Vibes

I saw these tealight holders in a copy of Living Etc a while ago (I think...) - they were in black, red and blue but I decided to buy a few in both black and red to recreate a black lodge feel, as I'd recently finished a Twin Peaks marathon (so it's been a happy coincidence that there has been a chevron craze going on). I'm not sure these are available anymore but I think they're a cute addition to the home and thought I'd share - plus you can probably find something similar or possibly make your own!

The Body Shop Camomile Range

I turned to this range when I decided to completely revamp my skin care routine (aided by Caroline Hirons but I'll do a bigger post on that in the future). The first thing I bought from the range was the cleansing butter which is AMAZING. You just take a bit of the silky butter and rub it all over your face and watch your make up effortlessly glide off - a little really does go a long way. I then is rinse it with warm water and a flannel to make sure all my make up and any product residue is off. It smells lovely and is perfect for my sensitive skin.

I also wanted to buy something as a second cleanser and decided to try the oil (sometimes I'll use one or the other, sometimes I'll use both). This also removes make up like a dream and leaves my skin feeling just as soft and clean as the butter. Again I use a flannel and warm water to get off the residue.

Both of these products are amazing and I couldn't recommend them enough for effortless make up removal and cleansing - my issue was the amount my flannels were being stained with my eye make up haha, so I decided to try out the eye & lip remover when I went back to re-purchase the butter and oil! (Which was good because TBS had their 3 for 2 offer on) This product is so gentle and it lifts my eye make up right off - I now use it before I go in for my proper cleanse. You just shake the bottle to bind the product and then use it on a cotton pad for wiping your eyes or lips.

I'm a huge fan of this range and definitely recommend it to anyone looking for some good cleansing products. Plus - it's hard to pass up for their prices as well as the fact they always have offers on!

MAC Lipstick in 'Morange'

MAC was the brand that really got me into make up and Morange was one of the first lipsticks I ever bought from them. It's part of their 'Amplified Creme' finish range. It's an orange red colour that is super bright - and a colour that stays true to how it looks in its bullet form. I don't wear it half as much as I used to and these days I prefer to get some tissue to blot it which also mutes the 'neon' of this colour.

You can never fail with MAC for a good lipstick and if you're looking for something nice and bright for summer, 'Morange' is one I would definitely recommend. As it is such a bold colour you don't need to go crazy with your eye make up - looks great with a good contour, taupe/brown shadows or flicks!

Ikea Floating Shelves

So on the 1st July me and Jimmy moved into our new house for just the two of us and we wanted to get it looking nice and homely, obviously an Ikea trip was on the cards. I wanted some shelves up in the living room and decided to go for these floating ones from their LACK range which were only £10 each! I think I might have had a mental breakdown trying to get my head around installing these things but thankfully Jimmy stepped in (as well as a helpful B&Q video) and we managed to get them up. We needed wall anchors, screws and an electric drill for the job and it wasn't even that traumatic in the end.

And a little shot of the living room as seen from the stairs featuring a few other bits from Ikea (lamp, rug, cushion, throws and plant pot). Really pleased with how they look with everything on them and the house is slowly coming together!

Aesop Parsley Seed Facial Cleansing Masque

I've heard nothing but good things about Aesop products but had never bought much due to the cost, but I decided to treat myself to this cleansing masque as I saw lots of positive reviews. This masque is really worth every penny. I use it whenever my skin needs a deep clean or is generally just in a bad way. As described "The purified clay draws out impurities; the Aloe Vera ensures this doesn't leave your skin feeling tight, while the Rosehip & Parsley Seed extracts deliver a big dose of anti-oxidants to perk up your skin." and it really does all of these things.

It's a nice smooth texture and smells lovely, I leave it on for about 20 minutes, then wash it off with a warm flannel and my face instantly feels one hundred times better - smooth, brightened and deeply cleansed of any impurities. This is one of the best cleansing masques I've ever used, which I apply weekly and  couldn't recommend it enough, will definitely be repurchasing once I run out.
